Driving License Category A1
Driving License Category A1 allows you to drive motorized two-wheeled vehicles. It permits the use of mopeds and small motorcycles that have an engine power no greater than 11 kW.

Prerequisites
A driving licence category is only available to those who are at least 16 years old. This license allows you to drive a light motorcycle, while categories A2 and A are reserved for larger motor vehicles. You also need to complete an initial-aid course and theoretical training based upon the complete curriculum. There are a variety of driving schools that offer this course. Prices may differ, but all of them follow the same curriculum.
The training in the practical part is made up of a number of driving lessons. These lessons are between three and four hours. The instructors will instruct you on the basics of your motorcycle and the basic rules of the road. The amount of time you spend instruction will be determined by your progress and ability, but the curriculum stipulates that you attend a minimum of five hours of instruction on roads that are federal and four hours of training on country roads. You'll also need to attend special riding classes that are designed to improve your skills in difficult situations.
Anyone who plans to drive vehicles in category C must possess a driving licence of category B or better. Anyone who has a category B licence can continue with the training of category A1 using an abbreviated curriculum however, they must complete the minimum requirement of 10 theory and ten driving lessons at a driving school. This is not possible for people who holds a category A licence, which is why the instruction for this category begins at an earlier age.
Driving License Category A1 is an excellent option for teenagers who want to get behind the wheel of their own vehicle or for adults who have been driving for a period of time, but are seeking a new way to commute. The restrictions on this kind of license are intended to ensure the safety of everyone involved. Training
To obtain a Driving License category A1, you must pass both the theory and the practical test. You must also attend a theory class and undergo training. Theory test
The Driving License Category A1 test is a two part test that includes both the theoretical and practical portions. It is designed to give you a basic understanding of the highway code and driving abilities. Both of these tests must be passed to receive your license. You can take your exams at any time prior to or following the completion of the basic training requirement (CBT).
The test for theory in the exam includes 50 multiple-choice questions that you need to answer correctly. It is recommended to study thoroughly before taking it. You should also attend a theory course at a recognized driving school or a motorcycle training center. You can also practice the test online.
If you've passed the portion of the exam that you took in the theory, you can book an appointment to take the test in the practical. You must bring your valid driver's licence and evidence of identity to the test centre, together with the vehicle you will be using for the test. You must wear a helmet and have all necessary safety gear.
Once you've passed the practical portion of the test, you will be issued your driving license within two weeks. You will have to show your driving licence every time you are requested. It will be adorned with a gold band above the expiration date. You cannot drive another vehicle on your licence and you'll need to renew it every two years.

Practical test
The test for the practical portion of the Driving License Category A1 exam is split into two parts. The first part involves the examiner inspecting your vehicle and preparing you to drive. Then, you will be required to perform a number of practical tasks in a test area. These tasks include an angle start (moving away from behind a car parked) and a variety of normal starts. You'll also be asked to make numerous hill starts, and turn left and right in the road. In addition, the driver will require you to take in a particular direction and follow the road ahead unless instructed otherwise on the radio.
The test consists of 50 multiple-choice questions, and you must pass these tests to earn your license. You can take the test at an educational centre or on your own. Before you can take the test in the real world, you must have completed 5 hours of training on Federal or Country Roads and 4 hours of instruction on Highways, and 3 hours of training in the darkness or dawn. After having passed both the theory and practical test, you will receive a Driving License A1. This license permits the driver to drive a motorbike that has an engine capacity of 125cc and a weight/power ratio of no greater than 11.5 kW per kilogram. This licence allows you to operate trikes that have engines up to 125cc, and a power/weight ratio of no more than 11 kW for each kilogram.
Alongside the driving test you must pass a medical examination before you can obtain your license. You must prove that you've completed an initial-aid course and passed an eye-sight test. If you are under 18 years old, you must get the consent of your legal guardian or parent to apply for a driving license.
